Punta Cana - Dominican Republic
This is an awesome description i just found from someone who just took a trip to Bavaro.  The article is very informative. Punta Cana, situated on the south east coast of the Dominican Republic with miles of powdery white sand beaches, & great golf courses is a perfect vacation getaway I recently spent 4 days here, and trust me that’s not enough time to fully experience all that Punta Cana has to offer. Some Quick Facts Language: Spanish;…

I know I said I wouldn’t talk about this stuff for a “while,” but I stumbled upon this video. I figured I’d put it up here. Now, just like the Hostos Professor in this clip, I’m not trying to affix a single label to Dominicans. I’m not trying to say Dominicans are overwhelmingly Black, White, or of Indian ancestry. That is not my aim; and I hope that’s not what you interpreted here for however long you’ve been visiting.…

Another day on the ground, another lesson about poverty
This is my second post on a hopefully series of post i will be making about a journey of a young High School student describing his experience in the Dominican Republic and how micro-loans are allowing some Dominicans to dream again.  This young man, Brett Mennella, is doing a fantastic job.  It is always nice to see that Dominican Republic from a foreigner’s eye. Brett Mennella, a senior at Bellevue High School…

The World In Happiness: We are 2nd on the list

Via Catherine Rampell, I see the new economics foundation (hip lowercase in the original) has released its second Happy Planet Index. The index attempts to rank the world on the basis of how efficiently countries produce happy lives — that is, lifespan and level of satisfaction divided by rate of resource consumption. Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica come out on top. Whether this is a meaningful measure is an open question. Measuring happiness…

Republica Dominicana – Inagotable

Dominican Republic-Inexhaustible! By far the best I’ve seen so far.    I’ve seen many videos of the Dominican Republic, however, this one blows the rest out of the water.  The department of tourism truly accomplished their goal here.  It makes you want to call your airline, hop on a plane , and enjoy this paradise.  Just beautiful!
