SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic  —  A pilot and passenger aboard a helicopter owned by a former presidential candidate died after the aircraft crashed in the Dominican Republic. President Leonel Fernandez has created the Civil Aviation Security National Committee (CONASAC) through decree 325-09. The new committee will be part of the Ministry of the Armed Forces instead of the National Airport Security Council. The Committee will report back to President Fernandez on policies and developments in the area of airport security.
